BAPS Temple

This is a significant project that stands as a testament to spiritual growth and community service for the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha followers. This newly inaugurated temple, embodying the Hindu ideals of faith, unity, and selfless service, extends beyond a place of worship to become a vibrant centre for community and personal development.

The temple, with its distinctive coral two-story design, provides versatile spaces for worship, education, and gatherings, marrying spiritual serenity with functional practicality. The welcoming ground floor includes a tranquil prayer hall, altar, and shrine room, pivotal for the temple’s religious activities. Additionally, a commercial kitchen, two dining areas, and a dedicated Shayona, supports community meals, while various storage areas ensure operational efficiency.

Fulfilling the client’s vision of meeting the community’s diverse needs, the temple features eight activity rooms used for educational purposes like teaching Gujarati, traditional dance, and music, two meeting rooms, an AV room with storage, a parents’ room, and a green room. Accommodations within the temple cater to visiting monks and a caretaker’s apartment, enhancing the temple’s functionality and hospitality.

Construction of the temple was fully funded by BAPS volunteers. The Client and volunteers alike are overjoyed to see their new Temple finally come to fruition after many years of hard work raising funds. The Temple is more than just a structure, it is a legacy for Canberra’s Hindu community, promising to be a foundation for spiritual growth and communal harmony for generations to come.
