The wide cantilevered concrete veranda, mirrored with the wide cantilevered concrete roof and simple lines is the 1st design element you see as you look up from the street. Designed to be a floating pavilion, the simplicity portrayed in this 1st view of the home has been achieved with an immense amount of effort and collaboration between the Architect, Builder and Engineer. As a team we explored the boundaries of what was possible to deliver a stunning project.
The cantilevered entry gives way to an amazing open breezeway with off form concrete walls and bridge. The concrete is married to Innowood cladding, exposed structural steel and immense expanses of glass capturing elevated Canberra views.
Burnished concrete floors with inslab Hydronic heating through out including the wet areas demanded a simple and stylish interior fit out.
The concrete and Innowood are the hero’s and all other elements complement rather than compete with them. Complexity in simplicity would sum up the design and build of this stunning home.
