Elevate

Elevate is an example of well-considered urban infill development that provides a positive contribution to the Aranda streetscape and an opportunity for people to age in their suburb.

Elevate consists of 10, 3 bedroom townhouses. The townhouses are split into two blocks, a block of 4 townhouses and a block of 6.  The central driveway accessing the rear garaging is disguised by a bridge terrace that links the two blocks.

The 10 townhouses are sited along the street frontage to maximise northern orientation and to activate the street.  Each unit stretches from the rear of the site to the street.  The design utilises the land fall across the site by providing level access from garaging to the rear and the essential living spaces stretching towards the street at an elevated position, this allows owners the option to age in place.  Secondary spaces are located at the lower street level.  Street courtyards to each unit are slightly elevated above the footpath; each courtyard has a low courtyard wall for privacy from pedestrians whilst allowing for passive surveillance of the street and a view beyond.

The iconic wing roof elements fall to the central courtyards to minimise wall height to maximise the light and ventilation available to the centre of each dwelling.
